I'm Back

Hi everyone! I just got back from doing a week of rotations in a NICU at a hospital in Oregon. It was a very good learning experience as I was able to see 7 or 8 C-Sections and observe and participate in the respiratory care and resuscitation of a lot of newborns. Thank you for all the comments on the messages I set up to post automatically while I was away.

  1. How exciting for you. Probably more exciting on your end than for those in the hospital - One of my daughters were born 2 months early and spent 2 weeks in the NICU.

By the way - AWANA stands for Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed. Check out www.awana.org

And thanks for stopping by my blog...

  2. Oh I see it's an organization that helps with homeschooling and has curriculums and stuff...very cool. My wife and I considered homeschooling for awhile, but she really wants to work and doesn't think she'd be the best teacher. I tell her that it won't be her but Christ working through her. But it looks like we'll be sending him to a private Christian school when the time comes (he's almost 3 now).

2 months early so I guess that's around 32 weeks or so. Yeah I'm sure a Respiratory Therapist checked on her about 20 times a day! You know, it's hard not to develop a bond with those little babies! I didn't think I wanted to work in a NICU prior to this rotation, but now that I've experienced it, I think I would really love it!

Anyway, no need to thank me, from the little time I spent looking over your blog, it looks awesome! Seems like a very nice systematic approach to Bible study...little chunks at a time. I really like your insights and look forward to reading some of your other posts when I get some more free time. :-)
